• It is important to understand the lateral "V" construct, which consists of the dorsal radiocar-pal ligament, distal intercarpal ligament, and dorsal components of the scapholunate and lunotriquetral ligaments, that allows indirect dorsal stability of the scaphoid throughout its range of motion.
