Pharmacokinetics in Rabbits

The pharmacokinetic properties of fostriecin in rabbits were assessed after bolus intravenous injection of 12 mg/m2 (Pillon et al. 1994). Disappearance from plasma was best described by a monoexponential equation representing a one-compartment model. The mean distribution space was determined as 4.4 l/m2 (~8 times the plasma volume) and the plasma clearance was 302 ml/min/m2 (75% of hepatic plasma flow). The plasma half-life of fos-triecin was 12.0+/-8.6 min.
