The FRISC II trial (37,38) was the first trial comparing early invasive and early conservative strategies in the stenting era. This was a large randomized placebo-controlled trial that used a 2 X 2 factorial design to compare dalteparin vs placebo, and early conservative vs early invasive strategy in patients with unstable angina and non-ST-elevation MI.
