Vacuoles small or lacking, pigment dispersed or in clumps

8-24 merozoites, sometimes more, pigment usually peripheral

Sickle-shaped, nucleus compact and central, pigment arranged around nucleus

Sickle-shaped, plumper than D, nucleus larger and less compact
