Image post-processing is a fundamental aspect of all MRA procedures to the extent that accurate diagnosis of vascular disease would be impossible without it. Accordingly, a great deal of time and effort has gone into the development of post-processing algorithms in order to facilitate and improve the diagnostic process both in terms of the variety of available techniques, and in terms of their speed, access and ease of application. Today, the clinician has a wide variety of robust post-processing techniques available with which to visualize, diagnose and quantify all manner of vascular lesions. With the ongoing development of more intricate, less time-consuming procedures, even sophisticated image post-processing promises to become a readily available, user-friendly feature of clinical routine.
