Failure of the RP refers to the necessity of fashioning a loop ileostomy with the pouch in site or the removal of the pouch with definitive ileostomy. The causes of failure include acute and chronic sepsis, bad functioning in regard to mechanical and functional causes and mucosal inflammatory processes.
