Lomustine (CCNU) 100 mg/m2 PO, day 1 Vinblastine (Velban) 6 mg/m2 IV, days 1, 8 Bleomycin 10 mg/m2 IV, days 1, 8 Cycle repeats 4-6 weeks

Ifosfamide, carboplatin, etoposide (ICE) (see page 556) chemotherapy can be utilized for attaining a remission in relapsed HD prior to the preparative ablative chemotherapy (Tables 16-13 and 16-14 in Chapter 16) for HSCT.

Because alkylating agents and etoposide (VP-16), which are highly active agents in the salvage treatment for HD, are associated with the development of myelodys-plastic syndrome (MDS) and s-AML, alternative therapeutic approaches for reinduction with novel agents are presently being studied, such as ifosfamide (IF) with vinorelbine (VRB) and gemcitabine (GEM) with VRB.
